Seabourn have formally announced it has signed a Letter of Intent for the construction of two new ultra-luxury expedition ships with shipbuilders T. Mariotti and Damen, who will collaborate on the construction of the vessels under a common name MARIOTTI DAMEN Cruise. The new ships will be a brand new innovative design, created specifically for the ultra-luxury expedition traveler, and will include many amenities that have made Seabourn ships so successful as well as a host of features designed to enhance the expedition experience.

The first delivery is expected in June 2021 and the second ship is anticipated in May 2022. The 170 meter, 23,000 gross ton vessels will add new capacity for Seabourn in Antarctica, the Arctic, and other exotic destinations around the world. Both ships will meet PC6 Polar Class standards. Each will feature 132 luxurious oceanfront veranda suites, which will be home for up to 264 Seabourn guests, including your clients.

As vessels built for ultra-luxury expedition travel, the ships will offer your clients a number of amenities designed to deliver an unparalleled guest experience in some of the most remote areas in the world, including many established Seabourn favorites. Each will be fully outfitted with many exciting features, including kayaks and 24 Zodiac inflatable boats. Both ships will be designed to carry two submarines onboard, which is a new feature for Seabourn, providing an unforgettable view of the world beneath the ocean’s surface.

We are confident in the future of Seabourn as demand for expedition experiences by luxury travelers continues to grow. These two new ships build upon the success of the Ventures by Seabourn program, which is now offered in select destinations around the world. These new ships position Seabourn well to attract new guests, including those traditionally choosing land-based resorts, while appealing to loyal Seabourn Club members.

As part of the Seabourn fleet, these new ultra-luxury expedition ships will deliver the same intuitive, personalized service gained over the course of Seabourn’s 30 year history.

Further details about the design and service details for the new ships will be available later this year.
