A major renovation of Windstar’s three Star Class vessels.
Between October 2019 and November 2020 each Star Class ship will be renovated at the Fincantieri Shipyard in Palermo, Sicily. An end to end cut will allow the installation of a new section of ship that will lengthen each vessel approximately 25 meters, bringing with it a variety of both enhanced and all new suites and public places. 50 new suites will be added and for existing suites, all new bathrooms and installation of new sliding doors for the Balcony suites.
There will be a new elevator mid ship, allowing access to all decks. A new tender boarding area will be located mid ship. Two new 90 passenger tenders will ferry guests to port when ships are at anchor. Additional crew will be hired keeping the line’s impressive 1.5:1 guest to hotel staff ratio. A larger pool and hot tub will be reconfigured and elevated offering outstanding views, along with more enhanced outdoor deck area.
All new environmentally friendlier engines will run on cleaner fuel, be more fuel efficient and reduce impact to sailing regions.
